Hi world! I am Michelle Scheuermann (pronounced Sherman) and BulletProof Media is a blog site for my musings and insights into the outdoor cable tv media world. I am the Director of Communications at Sportsman Channel, but this blog isn’t run by “the man,” it is mostly about me sharing what you may not know about the outdoor tv world. Additionally, I’ve really become more “into” the social media realm and you’ll see that reflected in my blogroll. Hence why the beginning of this new blog!
The outdoors has always been in blood – I grew up on a working dairy & crop farm in South Dakota, not far from the infamous Corn Palace. However, my dad didn’t think to take his girl pheasant hunting! It wasn’t until I landed at Sportsman Channel that I finally got my first bird. I’ve discovered the outdoor industry is full of creative, talented and passionate people and I can’t wait to share what I’ve learned with you.
Now, my husband and I are enjoying life to the fullest with our cat, Mr. Sybils. I look forward to hearing from you!

Howdy Michelle,
It was great to meet you at the POMA conference this year. I appreciate all the information you shared with us during the < 35 panel.
By the way, I smiled when I read the guest post by Greg Brey. The reason I made the move into the outdoor industry is because I am 'over qualified' myself. I lost my job as Technical Writing Team Lead when my work was outsourced. I spent most of 2009 trying to get back into the high-tech industry, but with no luck.
On a whim, I contacted Bond Arms and offered to conduct a product review. I had been using their products for years, I had the skills to produce solid content, and, I realized that I knew as much about defensive handguns as I ever did about computers and software. And so, my 7 month old career in the outdoor industry began.
I am looking forward to working with you and the other excellent members of POMA in the future. If I can ever be of service, please let me know.
